The LPS-01 is a low-profile phased array crawler designed for circumferential weld inspection on small diameter pipes, with outside diameter ranging from 20.32mm to 114.3mm (0.84-4.5 inch). The crawler uses a chain-and-buckle design that allows quick assembly directly on the pipe without disassembling the whole unit. With a height of just 15mm, the LPS-01 operates within tight clearance constraints — 15mm clearance is sufficient with 16-element PA probes, 20mm with 32-element PA probes, making it ideal for hard-to-reach areas. The probes and wedges can be quickly changed, probe spacing is adjustable from 0 to 55mm, and urethane wheels provide smooth radial movement with reduced axial drift. Two inspection methods are supported: one-side inspection (suitable for elbows, pipe tees and pipe-to-component inspection) and dual-side inspection (full weld coverage in a single scan). The LPS-01 is compatible with phased array instruments from Olympus, Sonatest, GE, M2M, TD, Sonotron and other major manufacturers.
